Several font families not commonly recognised as Web safe fonts are reported with more than 97% frequency on Windows systems: monospace Lucida Console, heavy sans serif Arial Black, sans serif Lucida Sans Unicode, serif Palatino Linotype and sans serif Franklin Gothic Medium.

The most common Windows fonts

The most common reported font on the Windows platform is the system interface font Tahoma, reported in practically 100% of submissions with Microsoft Sans Serif. Mathew Carter’s sans serif Verdana is in third position, followed by the classic typewriter font Courier New. Sans serif font Microsoft Arial completes the top 5 most common Windows fonts, all greater than 99% frequency.
